My Latest Business Adventure

Hello! So, you all know how much I LOVE clothes and accessories really are the finishing touch to ANY look – casual or fancy. I hear lots of women say, “but I wouldn’t know what to wear that with.” Here’s the thing, the only way to get comfortable with wearing accessories is by just going for it and trying new things out. Amazing outfits don’t always come out of the first look you put on, it takes throwing on pieces in your closet that might go together and finding great looks out of what you weren’t sure of. Well, sometimes the amazing outfits will come from the first look you put together but not always ๐Ÿ˜‰ I recently started as a Stylist for Stella & Dot. Have you heard of them? If you haven’t, you need to stop what you’re doing and follow this link now! http://www.stelladot.com/caitlyndavis I want to share some of my favorite pieces and different ways I have styled them.

First, the Rebel Pendant (comes in silver, gold and rose gold) is an easy piece to throw on with anything. Often, I will put on the Rebel over jean shorts and a white T-shirt. It just adds a cute element to what was a plain outfit. So easy for the moms out there looking for something quick.

Next, the Chiara. OMG, at first I was not crazy about this necklace, but after layering it over a denim shirt – forget about it. I am obsessed with this piece. It is so great for girls night, date night, work or just wearing it because it’s super cute.

The Freya Fringe, is probably my ultimate favorite piece. It can be worn several different ways but my favorite are short and long. This piece is so versatile. I took this to New York and basically wore it the entire time even though I brought several pieces with me. This may seem a little intimidating to some but TRUST me, this will really add some sparkle to your wardrobe and you won’t believe all the compliments you will receive.

There’s so many more amazing pieces from Stella & Dot! Check out their website and let me know what you think ๐Ÿ˜‰ http://www.stelladot.com/caitlyndavis

Thanks for reading,

Spring

ย  Spring is here and I have collected some of my favorite trends to share. I am still crazy for torn denim and shorts are no exception. The other day, Ryan (my husband) was like, “what is wrong with your shorts? They have a huge hole, why are you wearing them. Please tell me you didn’t buy them like that!?” Sorry, not sorry because I definitely bought them with the holes. I found these Topshop denim shorts on clearance at Nordstrom rack for $18! It doesn’t get much better than that for Topshop. They came with some small holes and have become holier (is that a word?) over time. They are a high rise and could be mistaken for “mom butt” but I actually LOVE them and usually wear a casual t-shirt, tucked in the front of course.

The block heel. OMG I am crazy for a block heel. As a girl who rarely wears heels and struggles to walk in them when I do, the chunky heel makes wearing heels a million times easier. Here’s a roundup of the ones I love:

I LOVE me some white denim! They are just so perfect for spring and summer. The torn look is fun and makes them a little more casual. Any age can wear a little tare but a shredded look is probably not the best choice for the seniors…. ๐Ÿ™‚

That is all for today. I will have much more to share soon. I hope you enjoyed reading!

OOTD Roundup

Wow, It has been a while and a lot has happened since my last post. I turned 30!! OMG! 30 is not scary but it does make me feel like an old broad. I mean, do I need to start wearing loafers and khakis? Not this girl – eek! (no offense if khakis and loafers are your outfit of choice) I am excited and ready to embrace my thirties. ๐Ÿ™‚

My 30th birthday was a week long celebration with a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with the kids, lunch with work friends, pizza party with our families and a night out with friends. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a roundup of pictures from my 30th Birthday Party at Mikunis ๐Ÿ™‚ I am crazy for sushi! Yes, guys were there too but it is so much more fun to take pictures with the ladies!

My sisters and a full body shot of my look for the night.ย

Oh this dress! It is ASTR and amazing. I love the blue and black together. Does this make anyone else happy? I think people used to say that black and blue do not go together but I think they compliment each other well. I wore a sparkly black blazer over the dress but didn’t get a clear picture! UGH! This outfit deserves a photo shoot it was soooo good.

Now, to my recent looks. I post my outfits daily on Instagram (@omgandmore), this is a great way to see what I wear everyday (outfit of the day, #ootd). Does that sound like I think I am cool because I don’t actually think I am cool but If you like my blog then you may like my Instagram too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Boot Update

It has been a while since my last post. Sorry! I got the over the knee boots and decided to return them, they were beautiful but I think my legs are a little skinny for them (first world problems). They were too baggy by the end of the evening and I just couldn’t look past it. I literally lost sleep over the decision to keep or return the Seychelles boots. Yes, I am being serious ๐Ÿ™„. ย I still have the dream of owning a pair of boots like these and I am on the search for the perfect fit.

Here is the look I put together to debut the boots. They are definitely a going out boot and not an everyday boot, in my opinion.

My husband has really stepped up his fashion game ๐Ÿ™‚ .

This look was so fun to pick out! The black dress and drapey jacket are from the Juniors department in Nordstrom. The necklace is Stella and Dot. I have become obsessed with their jewelry. The quality is amazing and every piece is so special ๐Ÿ™‚ .

They are too baggy right? Or, am I just crazy?!

I will keep you updated on my boot hunt! With the change of season coming, I may wait until the next winter, unless these go on sale then I may consider them a half size down to see if that helps with the bagginess. I am a true 8.5 but got these in a 9 because that is all that was available. Unless I find something that fits better ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

On a different note, today is the one year anniversary of my blog! YAY! I can’t believe it has been a year. I created this blog when I was feeling blah and a little sad. I wanted to create something for me, outside of being a mommy, that I enjoyed and could be an outlet for my fashion obsession. OMGANDMORE has been such an amazing way for me to express myself and share my love for fashion ๐Ÿ™‚ . Thank you for reading!

I HAD A DREAM…. ABOUT OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Yes, I realize it’s a little late in the season to bring up the over the knee boot. I just can’t get these out of my mind. People are posting pics on Instagram everywhere wearing these. To me, I always thought this style boot was a little on the skanky side (for lack of a better word. I just tried to put a Kimoji pic in and it won’t let me… Ugh!) but lately I am really into it. Although, there is a fine line between skank and adorable. The heel length and the outfit choice are the deciding factors in this matter. A flat to mid high heel (2-3″) is much more acceptable than a stiletto. Also, if you decide to wear these with a mini skirt please be prepared to be whistled at.

ย

These Steve Madden boots seem to be popular with the heel and tie in the back but i honestly hate them.

Steve Madden

These are just okay. They are a good option for a more casual look. They would be cute with skinny jeans and a long shirt or a sweater and sparkly necklace for a dressier option.

Vince Camuto

These are a thigh high boot and I am obsessed! I just ordered them and I hope they are as amazing in person as online.ย

The Seychelles (a brand I have never tried, on the pricey side) are just perfection. The color is amazing, they can go with dark or lighter colors and can easily be dressed up or down by the change of a shirt.I love the heel height (2 1/4). Although, perfect looking online, these will definitely need to be tried on. With the thigh high boot I am hoping to not look like a hooker. I think worn with the right outfit, skinny pants/jeans, a skirt or dress with tights will look adorable.

These Calvin Klein knee high boots are a great option too and they are at a nicer price point then the Seychelles.

I really like the heel height and the toe shape on the Calvin Klein boots. I feel like other people really like the laced up ones but I am not into them.

I know this is a random one but I hope you enjoyed the post ๐Ÿ™‚ .

EAST COAST DAY 2

DAY 2 of 6!

We all woke up well rested and excited for our second day in the city. It was about an hour train ride into the city from our friends house, where we were staying. Here’s a pic of Sandra and I at Madison’s adorable train station. Of course with our morning coffees ๐Ÿ™‚ .

IMG_5224

First stop, Grand Central Station. WOW! The station is beautiful! We took lots of pictures but nothing seemed to turn out awesome.. must have been the cameras fault right? Anyway, here is the only decent full body shot of my outfit for the day. I am crazy for this suede skirt because it goes with so much! I like to wear it with a longer shirt over or a tucked flannel. The shirt is so comfy and can be dressed up (sort of) or dressed down with jeans so easy. It comes with those hanging straps on the inside (which drive me nuts) and I plan to snip those out ASAP! The booties were a cute choice with this outfit but not a cute choice for walking around New York City. My feet were okay but they would have been a lot better in some Nike’s. But we were in the city, I had to dress up right?

0925151211

After touring the station for a little while, we tried out Dunkin’ Donuts. EVERYBODY says, “you must try Dunkin’ Donuts.” Look, this might offend some people but WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? I think the coffee was alright nothing special (#sorrynotsorry). After drinking our mediocre coffee, we took a taxi to the Rockefeller building.

IMG_5235

(Here’s Ryan calling for a taxi. OMG, he isย we are such dorks)

While waiting for our “appointment” time to take the elevator ride up to the top of Rockefeller, I did some shopping at TOPSHOP ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Here is what I got:

IMG_5345

The yellow flannel has been on my radar for a while so I knew this was going to be a purchase. The lace-up flats have been all over Instagram lately and I have been drooling! I am so happy to now have a pair! I was between the these and the same ones but with tassels. Sandra and I decided the tassels were too intense. The NY (not from TOPSHOP) hat is just cute (sorry NY, I am only concerned about the cuteness factor. At least I am honest?).

The elevator ride up to the top of Rockefeller was 90 seconds of torture. I get motion sickness and they had a crazy strobe light show on the ceiling while we rode up (I was so happy when it stopped!). The views were amazing but I was happy to be back on the ground floor ๐Ÿ™‚ .

SDC12038

We ate a late breakfast so we skipped lunch, terrible decision (some of us may have been hangry (hungry+angry=hangry), or maybe that was just me?). We went and wandered through the MET. AMAZING is all I can say. You could spend an entire day just looking at things in the MET. We left after a couple hours in need of dinner.

SDC12046

(I should be embarrassed by this but for some reason I am not)

SDC12051

Reichenbach Hall is where we ended up for dinner. It was a great atmoshphere with delicious chicken wings ๐Ÿ™‚ . The beer was pretty good too! After dinner, we checked out the Barcade (video game bar). The dudes had a great time, Sandra and I were exhausted.

Lastly, on our way back to the train station, I saw a Psychic sign. YES! This is not really for everyone but I think it is fun to see what they will say. The woman read my palm for a few seconds (while her dog barked and her kids yelled in the other room) then had some serious predictions. She said: If I am not careful, I will be pregnant with a boy in 7 months (um, no thanks! This mama is done ๐Ÿ™‚ ), I will be signing important papers in the next few months, we will be buying a different house in 2 years and I may be changing jobs. She also answered a few random questions of mine. It was a lot of fun, I may or may not have been intoxicated while my reading but I had a blast.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our day 2 in NYC, there are 4 more days to come!

(The little feet in the picture are my youngest, Madison’s. It is not easy to get a picture without these kids sneaking in ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Today’s look. These green Rag and Bone jeans have become one of my FAVORITES. (I picked them up at the Anniversary Sale at a much better price!) At first, I was thinking, “what does someone wear with green pants?” Once I got home, I was like, “what can’t you wear with green pants?” The possibilities are endless ๐Ÿ™‚ . It’s all about trying new options and putting pieces together to see how they will look. You may surprise yourself! Next, this Halogen shirt (is $25 and comes in several different colors, I also got this piece at the Anniversary Sale for only $15) is an awesome basic. I am CRAZY for a white t-shirt, they are so easy to put on with jeans, a skirt/shorts or GREEN PANTS ๐Ÿ˜‰ . The leopard BP flats are always a great choice. They are not the most supportive shoes and mine have gotten a little stinky (TMI?) but they are super fun and reasonably priced. Last, the necklace is a hand-me-down piece from my wonderful sister-in-law (thanks, Jamie!). It is from Anthropologie but not sure how long ago.

A GIRL CAN DREAM

Lately, I have been drooling over some must-have items (in my opinion). Why is everyone wearing these TOPSHOP lace-up flats? Now, I want them!! By everyone, I mean people sponsored on Instagram… but still.. I can’t get them out of my head. They are called Kingdom Ghillie Pointed Shoes and they are adorable. They would be great with a dress, shorts/skirt or even jeans. They are different and I think that is what I am most attracted to, they also fill my wannabe ballerina I guess. I need to try these NOW! Why can’t it be my birthday again (without turning a year older of course ๐Ÿ™‚ ). These flats come in a few different styles. Nordstrom does not sell this specific TOPSHOP flat so they would be an online order.. unless you are fortunate enough to live by a TOPSHOP!

deals-steals-aquazurra-flats

Next, I am still dreaming about getting a key. The Giving Keysย have been in my dreams for a while now. I have not gone for one yet because I can’t decide which one I want! Now, of course, the one I think I like the most is over $100… why can’t I settle for lacing up a old house key I find? It’s just not the same ๐Ÿ˜‰ . Each key has a word engraved in it. This one says “fearless.” I think I would feel like a bad ass wearing it, right? With the word “fearless” I think I would be tougher. Of course there is always the ring option which I have only found online and I feel like a ring really needs to be tried on for size (I don’t have the skinniest fingers). Can I have both?

Free People recently came out with some ADORABLE items! This sweater is SO cute and comfy! It would be great with some skinny dark or colored jeans and a long necklace. I think little booties would be best but tall boots would be okay too, any color. This sweater is so neutral yet special. (yes I just called a piece of clothing special, OMG) SHOPPING SECRET: I like to put items I like (usually on Nordstrom.com) in my wish list then I wait until they go on sale to purchase ๐Ÿ˜‰ . Not all the items go on sale but most of my wish list items usually do at some point. I check my wish list often to see if one of my favorites is on sale yet. Free People is kind of expensive and it does go on sale so keep you eye out!

Thanks for reading and letting me vent about my wishes. Happy unbirthday to you!

FINAL OPTION

This last option is a more formal one. Heels are an obvious choice for dressing up a simple black dress. I RARELY wear heels but I feel like it is a must to own a pair for that once in a while evening that heels are perfect for. I try my best to make an outfit work without heels but sometimes there is no avoiding it ๐Ÿ˜‰ . These ones areย Louise et Cie and are pretty comfortable for heels. They are about 3 1/2”, I found that 3” is what I am most comfortable at, 4” is crazy town! After wearing these for a night only one toe was numb for about a day, that’s good right?

OPTION ONE

SONY DSC
Extreme closeup!

Here is the first option I chose to wear with this dress. I LOVE the idea of mixing casual with fancy, whether it’s a t-shirt with a fancy-ish skirt or in this case, a dress with a flannel and converse. I am crazy for Converse, I think this is my 3rd or 4th pair. Just a fun fact, they wash really well! I wore my white pair camping (I know terrible idea) and they washed back to crisp white. My girls have the pink velcro Converse (going on their 3rd pair) and they wash well too ๐Ÿ™‚ . I went with this could-be-casual-or-dressed-up necklace, courtesy of my sister-in-law; Thank you Jamie! The flannel is actually denim and it is SO comfy and great to wear with light jeans, or unbuttoned as a third piece. The sleeves rolled gives the shirt a cuter look. I don’t know how I came up with this outfit, it just came to me as I was looking into my closet trying to figure out what to do. It is unexpected and I think that is what I like most about it. This outfit could be worn during the day, running around with the kids and then you could trade out the Converse for heels and take off the denim shirt for a night out. The necklace would still be great for going out. Here are lots of pics from our “photo shoot,” I hope you enjoy! Thanks again Bri for helping!!
