OMG, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here. Words cannot express my excitement over this sale. I know how ridiculous this sounds BUT something about having early access (Nordstrom card holder – only a level 1 but whatever) and items selling out before being released to the public, just makes it exciting. Oh and another reason why I love this sale is all items are new arrivals! Okay, enough about my obsession.. here are some of my favorites:
This Topshop camo jacket is adorable and fun. It has some cute ruching on the side that makes it look like a bomber jacket. It is showing unavailable but I really hope it comes back in stock!
This dress. Another Topshop item and it is perfection. It’s dressy but could be dressed down. So great for a night out or lunch with friends..
Black, torn denim have been on my wish list for over a year. These Hudson’s are AMAZING.
This Trouve faux leather skirt makes me feel like I live in the city.. I have this fantasy of living in NYC and being a successful fashion blogger (with a nanny, kids in private school, a super fancy apartment and a house in the Hamptons, a girl can dream.) This Trouve skirt is probably the closest I am going to get to living in NYC. It also reminded me of “Odd Mom Out” and that made me happy too.
These Ivanka Trump heels are fun and unexpected. I love that the heel is suede/velvet/whatever too. These are outside the box for me but I am going for it! They are ADORABLE with the Topshop dress.
This ASTR mesh top (I just cringed saying the word mesh in my head) is so cute! Definitely wear a camisole under, please. It would look great with shorts or jeans. It can really be worn dressed up with a fun necklace and heels 🙂
These Dolce Vita over the knee boots are super cool. I got a pair of different over the knee boots about a year ago but they were so baggy I couldn’t stand it. These seem like they will be perfect.. we will see!
Good luck shopping and I hope you enjoyed my picks 🙂
Spring is here and I have collected some of my favorite trends to share. I am still crazy for torn denim and shorts are no exception. The other day, Ryan (my husband) was like, “what is wrong with your shorts? They have a huge hole, why are you wearing them. Please tell me you didn’t buy them like that!?” Sorry, not sorry because I definitely bought them with the holes. I found these Topshop denim shorts on clearance at Nordstrom rack for $18! It doesn’t get much better than that for Topshop. They came with some small holes and have become holier (is that a word?) over time. They are a high rise and could be mistaken for “mom butt” but I actually LOVE them and usually wear a casual t-shirt, tucked in the front of course.
The block heel. OMG I am crazy for a block heel. As a girl who rarely wears heels and struggles to walk in them when I do, the chunky heel makes wearing heels a million times easier. Here’s a roundup of the ones I love:
I LOVE me some white denim! They are just so perfect for spring and summer. The torn look is fun and makes them a little more casual. Any age can wear a little tare but a shredded look is probably not the best choice for the seniors…. 🙂
That is all for today. I will have much more to share soon. I hope you enjoyed reading!
Wow, It has been a while and a lot has happened since my last post. I turned 30!! OMG! 30 is not scary but it does make me feel like an old broad. I mean, do I need to start wearing loafers and khakis? Not this girl – eek! (no offense if khakis and loafers are your outfit of choice) I am excited and ready to embrace my thirties. 🙂
My 30th birthday was a week long celebration with a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with the kids, lunch with work friends, pizza party with our families and a night out with friends. 🙂
Oh this dress! It is ASTR and amazing. I love the blue and black together. Does this make anyone else happy? I think people used to say that black and blue do not go together but I think they compliment each other well. I wore a sparkly black blazer over the dress but didn’t get a clear picture! UGH! This outfit deserves a photo shoot it was soooo good.
Now, to my recent looks. I post my outfits daily on Instagram (@omgandmore), this is a great way to see what I wear everyday (outfit of the day, #ootd). Does that sound like I think I am cool because I don’t actually think I am cool but If you like my blog then you may like my Instagram too. 😉
I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading.
Yes, I realize it’s a little late in the season to bring up the over the knee boot. I just can’t get these out of my mind. People are posting pics on Instagram everywhere wearing these. To me, I always thought this style boot was a little on the skanky side (for lack of a better word. I just tried to put a Kimoji pic in and it won’t let me… Ugh!) but lately I am really into it. Although, there is a fine line between skank and adorable. The heel length and the outfit choice are the deciding factors in this matter. A flat to mid high heel (2-3″) is much more acceptable than a stiletto. Also, if you decide to wear these with a mini skirt please be prepared to be whistled at.
The Seychelles (a brand I have never tried, on the pricey side) are just perfection. The color is amazing, they can go with dark or lighter colors and can easily be dressed up or down by the change of a shirt.I love the heel height (2 1/4). Although, perfect looking online, these will definitely need to be tried on. With the thigh high boot I am hoping to not look like a hooker. I think worn with the right outfit, skinny pants/jeans, a skirt or dress with tights will look adorable.
I really like the heel height and the toe shape on the Calvin Klein boots. I feel like other people really like the laced up ones but I am not into them.
I know this is a random one but I hope you enjoyed the post 🙂 .
I really only have ONE pair of blue denim that I like. They are high rise, skinny and I got them on sale 😬 . Why is it so difficult finding the perfect pair/fit/color/rise of jeans? It was like discovering pizza for the first time when I found these. They are my first real “high rise” denim and yes, I wear them almost everyday…. That’s why I am now looking for another pair so I don’t ruin these in a matter of months. Here are the ones I love:
The next pair I get need to be high rise for sure and maybe a lighter denim with some holes? My husband would say, “holes? Really? That’s ridiculous!” But what does he know? 😂 I have been considering adventuring to GAP for some nicely priced denim. When I have tried GAP in the past, the denim have stretched too much or they just weren’t comfortable but I am optimistic that I can find a great fitting pair! (I am really trying to not be a jean snob right now) Here is a pair I was checking out online, they are mid-rise and would definitely need to be tried on. I love that they are a totally different look with the loose fit and worn denim. GAP always has a sale online which makes shopping feel a little more guilt free 😉
I am OBSESSED with the next pair of jeans! They just look amazing, too bad they are sold out of all sizes but one. Of course they are on sale too. Maybe they will be in your size?
Lastly, when in doubt just get the jeans you love in another color. RIGHT?

If you don’t know already, I am Nordstrom obsessed. My friends and family think I buy everything expensive and full-priced. Yes, I am a mall rat and yes, I have a shopping problem. I mean, at least I admit it right? The truth is, I put items I want in my ‘wish list’ and wait until they go on sale before I buy them, unless it is something amazing and I need it right away! In the case of a must-have-emergency, I will still place my new item in my ‘wish list’ on Nordstrom.com and if it goes on sale within a couple weeks they will price adjust. 🙂 Anyway, the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale is going on so of course I checked all the items on my list first thing when the sale started a few days ago. Sadly, only a few of my items were on sale. I browsed the sale online and I am a little disappointed. I mean, is a Marc by Marc Jacobs or Rebecca Minkoff Hobo bag marked half-off too much to ask for? Not sure what I was hoping for but there just wasn’t anything AMAZING. (first world problems) Of course I still bought a few things. 🙂
Yes, I am also obsessed with the Treasure and Bond brand.
If you follow me on Instagram you have probably thought to yourself, “is she really wearing that adorable leather jacket again?” (You may have thought that without the adorable mixed in 🙂 ) I had planned on getting the leather Treasure and Bond jacket after Christmas with gift cards because it was a little pricey. Two weeks ago, the jacket was showing unavailable online. I was in a panic! I called the online customer service immediately, yes I was at work and whispering while making my really important phone call. They were able to add it to my shopping bag so I had no choice but to order it. (It was clearly a life or death making decision) Luckily, I have a Nordstrom card in my name so my husband can’t see my purchases. Yes, I really just admitted to that and no I’m not sorry.
Okay, enough about the story behind the jacket. A few years ago I would have never imagined myself in a black leather moto jacket. What does a person wear with it? Would I look like I belonged in a biker gang? A leather jacket felt intimidating at the time but my style has really evolved and I love taking risks.
I started by only wearing the jacket on “fancy” nights out then with jeans and a t-shirt. This morning I was getting ready to run errands and I was deciding between my new awesome jacket or a comfy sweatshirt. Yes, a sweatshirt would have been cozy but I chose the new jacket. No, I wasn’t as comfy but I felt better and more put together. Although, this jacket is REALLY soft and easy to wear. I love wearing it with jeans, skirts or black pants 🙂 . Well, now you know about my new obsession.
Thanks for reading,
Here are some options I found if you are intersted in finding a motorcycle jacket:
Oh the sales! For my family, it is a tradition to fight the crowds on Black Friday. I am sure lots of people think we are crazy. Thursday night, my sisters and I went to Target and Kohls. I came straight from Thanksgiving dinner so I was dressed a little fancy for shopping.
These are my first true high-rise jeans and I don’t think I will every buy a different rise now. Yes, they go up to my belly button and no it doesn’t bother me. I felt weird for about a day wearing them but I am in love now. If you haven’t tried a high-rise, you need to. They just fit so amazing and make me feel more confident with my body. The ASTR deep v-neck shirt was an item I picked up on sale right before the Black Friday sale at Nordstrom (Of course it is no longer available, sorry! On Black Friday it was marked down an extra 20%) along with the adorable booties. OMG these booties. I am in love, they are the perfect color (they also come in several other amazing colors) and I am crazy for the laced-up style. The outfit is a little random but I think it came together nicely. The flannel under the dressy shirt was something fun I wanted to try. I like the idea of mixing fancy with causal, it makes things interesting. Fashion is about taking risks right?
Sunday morning we slept in, said goodbye to our friends and left for DC. We had a rental car specifically for this drive. We had hoped to stop in Philly but due to the Pope’s visit we were not able to (not bitter or anything). Once in DC, we checked in and headed to the downtown area to take the night bus tour. Ryan insisted that I take a pic in front of the FBI building (HI!).
(My feet were done at this point and my Nike’s were oh so comfy 🙂 )
(Dinner before the night tour)
In NYC, the adrenaline of the city was amazing and I wanted to look my best everyday. As soon as we got to DC, it just wasn’t the same vibe (for me at least, sorry DC) and I seemed to hit my “wall” of exhaustion. The DC night tour was awesome but lasted a hour longer than supposed to so we didn’t get back to the hotel until about midnight. We then hit the bar for some drinks 🙂
From Madison, NJ we drove to Brooklyn. For some reason, I expected Brooklyn to be grungy and a little scary but it was quite the opposite (at least the area we were in). OMG, Brooklyn, it was love at first bite of a duck wing. We started at the Smorgasbord. The food options were AMAZING! I tried duck, coconut (yes, I have tried coconut before but never in such a fun way) and Lumpia (I know random, I just couldn’t decide and it sounded delicious).
(At first I felt a little sad about the duck but I just tried not to think about singing rubber ducky to my kids)
Can you see the little mouse door? How fun is that!?
The thing I loved about Brooklyn so much was the feeling I had while there. Everyone was dressed like they had their own fashion blog and the shopping was awesome! A lot of flea shopping with handmade jewelry and several boutiques with unique clothing. I felt safe and it was just a cool place. My purchase while in Brooklyn was a pair of cloth Dr. Martens. It’s funny because when I was in Junior High/ High School, my sisters and I owned pairs of Doc’s but got rid of all of them and now they are back!? Fashion is funny. They are adorable but I have not worn them yet, I think I am waiting for the weather to cool down.
The Dr. Martins are a different look, I am trying to not let them intimidate me and just go for it 🙂
That night, we had tickets to see The Book of Mormon on Broadway. We changed our clothes in the car, yes in the car and we set out for sushi then the show. Wow, the show was AMAZING and hilarious! Definitely a must see, unless you are offended easily, then maybe not…
For the evening, I chose to wear this Wayf faux suede blue dress with Vince Camuto heels and a Stella and Dot necklace. The dress is fun and different than anything else I own (minus the brown faux suede skirt I own but that’s different cause it’s a not the same color and not a skirt, right?). After the show, we went to a rooftop bar for drinks. The night was so fun 🙂 .
