OOTD Roundup

Wow, It has been a while and a lot has happened since my last post. I turned 30!! OMG! 30 is not scary but it does make me feel like an old broad. I mean, do I need to start wearing loafers and khakis? Not this girl – eek! (no offense if khakis and loafers are your outfit of choice) I am excited and ready to embrace my thirties. πŸ™‚

My 30th birthday was a week long celebration with a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with the kids, lunch with work friends, pizza party with our families and a night out with friends. πŸ™‚

Here’s a roundup of pictures from my 30th Birthday Party at Mikunis πŸ™‚ I am crazy for sushi! Yes, guys were there too but it is so much more fun to take pictures with the ladies!
My sisters and a full body shot of my look for the night.Β

Oh this dress! It is ASTR and amazing. I love the blue and black together. Does this make anyone else happy? I think people used to say that black and blue do not go together but I think they compliment each other well. I wore a sparkly black blazer over the dress but didn’t get a clear picture! UGH! This outfit deserves a photo shoot it was soooo good.

Now, to my recent looks. I post my outfits daily on Instagram (@omgandmore), this is a great way to see what I wear everyday (outfit of the day, #ootd). Does that sound like I think I am cool because I don’t actually think I am cool but If you like my blog then you may like my Instagram too. πŸ˜‰

This TOPSHOP trench was a gift from my hubby. I love the color, it’s a nice spin on a classic.
Found these ripped jeans at Nordstrom Rack for $18!!! Best. Day. Ever. Oh and the Adidas… OMG!! These are a real throwback to the 90’s and I am obsessed.
The waitress look – the bowtie, the vest, the velvet shorts and tights… in love!

I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading.

Lately, I have been drooling over some must-have items (in my opinion). Why is everyone wearing these TOPSHOP lace-up flats? Now, I want them!! By everyone, I mean people sponsored on Instagram… but still.. I can’t get them out of my head. They are called Kingdom Ghillie Pointed Shoes and they are adorable. They would be great with a dress, shorts/skirt or even jeans. They are different and I think that is what I am most attracted to, they also fill my wannabe ballerina I guess. I need to try these NOW! Why can’t it be my birthday again (without turning a year older of course πŸ™‚ ). These flats come in a few different styles. Nordstrom does not sell this specific TOPSHOP flat so they would be an online order.. unless you are fortunate enough to live by a TOPSHOP!

Next, I am still dreaming about getting a key. The Giving KeysΒ have been in my dreams for a while now. I have not gone for one yet because I can’t decide which one I want! Now, of course, the one I think I like the most is over $100… why can’t I settle for lacing up a old house key I find? It’s just not the same πŸ˜‰ . Each key has a word engraved in it. This one says “fearless.” I think I would feel like a bad ass wearing it, right? With the word “fearless” I think I would be tougher. Of course there is always the ring option which I have only found online and I feel like a ring really needs to be tried on for size (I don’t have the skinniest fingers). Can I have both?

Free People recently came out with some ADORABLE items! This sweater is SO cute and comfy! It would be great with some skinny dark or colored jeans and a long necklace. I think little booties would be best but tall boots would be okay too, any color. This sweater is so neutral yet special. (yes I just called a piece of clothing special, OMG) SHOPPING SECRET: I like to put items I like (usually on Nordstrom.com) in my wish list then I wait until they go on sale to purchase πŸ˜‰ . Not all the items go on sale but most of my wish list items usually do at some point. I check my wish list often to see if one of my favorites is on sale yet. Free People is kind of expensive and it does go on sale so keep you eye out!

Thanks for reading and letting me vent about my wishes. Happy unbirthday to you!

Thursday, was my sister-in-laws (and bro-in-laws but he was not there) birthday and we celebrated doing the Sac Brew Bike in Sacramento. It was SO FUN!! OMG! Friday, was rough..I may or may not have left a little early from work. Anyway, to the outfit. I felt like I wanted to look like a real hipster/cute. I wanted to venture out and try something new, you know when you see girls dressed adorable like they could be on TV, well that was the look I was going for, kind of. I think the outfit turned out pretty cute, I don’t know about TV worthy but definitely Midtown worthy.

OMG, this Madewell vest, forget about it so cute! I love that the denim is lighter than usual so you can wear it with a darker denim pant/short or a cute summer dress. Β  Β Β

This is my I-want-to-be-model-but-I-have-no-idea-how-to-model-look. Does that make sense? I tucked the shirt just in the front because the shirt is about the same length as the shorts and I didn’t want to look like I had nothing on under the shirt.. awkward! Ryan said the shirt looked stupid tucked in but I liked it.. what does he know anyway? Since we were biking I felt Converse were appropriate and unexpected. I love mixing the unexpected!

This picture is terrible but it is the only one I got of us πŸ™‚ .

The gang.

The Giving Keys. Lately,I have seen some people around town wearing a used key. I thought it was just a cute key on a chain until I found out more. Β People purchase one of these keys for someone they feel “need” the message engraved on the key or just because they think it is ADORABLE. Some of the words are LOVE, STRENGTH, CREATE and COURAGE. I am not a touchy-feely person, so I would go for CREATE πŸ™‚ . You can get a key on a necklace, bracelet or ring, I love that there are so many options!!! Β Here is a brief description that I found on The Giving Keys website:

In A Nutshell

The Giving Keys exists to employ those transitioning out of homelessness to make jewelry out of repurposed keys that get sold and shared around the world. Each key is unique and carries a message like HOPE, STRENGTH, DREAM or COURAGE. When the wearer of the key encounters someone else who needs the message on the key, they give it away and then send us the story of their key being paid forward.

The meaning behind the keys is amazing. I really wanted to buy one for myself but I feel like it needs to be gifted to you. It’s like Halloween, I will wait by my porch hoping for someone to BOO me.. πŸ™‚ I did purchase one for someone’s Birthday but I can’t say who because they may read this πŸ™‚ . One concern I do have is, I wonder if they key can rub off on your shirt and make it dirty? Sorry, hopefully not! They are adorable and I am a little obsessed. I found them at a boutique in the Fountains, Roseville but they are also sold online and at Nordstrom.

What I wore

Yesterday I went to a baby shower for a good friend. The night before, Β I was thinking about what kind of outfit is the right outfit to wear to a baby shower, but Β all I could think about were the horrible games I would have to play. Fortunately this baby shower turned out to be very fun and easy (no games were pushed πŸ™‚ ). Back to the clothes, I decided to wear my straight Paige jeans with my ADORABLE new fancy flats. I chose a easy blue tank top (I get hot really easy, especially in a crowd) and my new jacket (Halogen) that Ryan got me for my birthday. Here’s the thing, I LOVE how this jacket looks BUT I cannot move my arms in it! I literally could not wear it while driving! I mean, is this normal? The necklace is a cute elephant from J Crew. Β Oh and of course my Kate Spade purse (I am obsessed with Kate Spade right now, everything is so classy/timeless πŸ™‚ ).

Birthday Shopping…

Today is my Birthday and it is a white v-neck, torn jeans and pair of TOMS kind of day. I started the day off with Starbucks, sushi, then a kid-free trip to the mall (NOTHING is better than a kid-free trip to the mall). Thank you mom for babysitting. Here is what I picked up πŸ™‚

Β I don’t usually go to Banana Republic but today I was feeling adventurous. This dress immediately caught my eye and is was 40% off! It is dressy and sporty. Oh and super flattering. I plan to wear this dress with some black ballet flats or the flashy flats below.

Next, these shoes (OMFG)! I LOVE these shoes. They shimmer and are Italian Β πŸ™‚ My Grandpa was Italian πŸ™‚ The brand is Attilio Giusti Leombruni. These will go with pants, jeans, skirts and dresses. They can be dressed up or dressed down. I also think they are cuter in person. I picked these up at Nordstrom, luckily I had a gift card (Happy Birthday to me)!

Did I Forget to Mention?

Did I forget to mention that my Birthday is next week? Guess what bitches, it’s my Birthday next week! It is going to be the last year in my twenties (yikes). My dream Birthday celebration would be going to Las Vegas and seeing Britney Spears! Since that is not going to happen (Ryan is the fun police), I think we are going to dinner, which will be fun to have a night away from the kids. This may sound snobby but I always send Ryan a list with links to items I want, if I don’t the items he chooses are scary! Here are some items below I was thinking about adding to my list this year πŸ™‚

I found some items that are adorable and perfect for the weekend or work (minus the torn jeans for work). I think the blazer is so fun and would be so cute with these school girl shoes. The blazer is Halogen and would also be cute with some black jeans and a white blouse. The jeans are a must for the Spring/Summer. They are Hudson and mid-rise (which I love). The shoes are both a statement and may not be the easiest for some people to wear BUT they are so fun and cute ! I LOVE everything with stripes, they can be dressed up or dressed down. The torn jeans could be worn with the striped shirt and brown shoes.

Statement Necklace

Not just any statement necklace will do. I think it is best to have a few necklaces to choose from as statement necklaces are what they sound like – statements – and you don’t want to wear the same piece day after day. With that being said, you also want Β to find necklaces that you can wear with lots of outfits (t-shirts, dresses). So, I did some research on some new-to-me sites. I found BaubleBar (you get 15% off on your first purchase!) on Facebook. The following necklaces from BaubleBar are under $50:

It is important that if you wear a statement necklace, you do not wear anything else too busy. I mean, you can but you might make people sick looking at your outfit πŸ™‚ I was told a of couple weeks ago that a dress I was wearing made someone dizzy, but that is a different blog for a different day.

The next necklace is on my personal ‘wish list’ at Nordstrom. It is on sale too! I am hoping to see this on my birthday next week πŸ™‚ Here is the link if anyone is interested. It is on sale right now for $40.

OMFG This Dress

OMFG I LOVE and WANT this dress. Pretty please for my Birthday πŸ™‚ This Kate Spade Griffin dress is so adorable and something I would wear to dinner, work, heck I will wear it anywhere I love it! I think it would be adorable with some fun laced black tights and some black wedges or a fun colored flat or heel. EEE

Casual Sunday

Today I took the girls to a good friends Birthday party. It was a first Birthday so I thought it would be best to wear something on the comfy side since I would be chasing kids. Also, you don’t want to show up looking like you’re going out on the town, It’s a kids party, get over yourself. The denim flannel is one of my new favorites. I also love my comfy Toms with a pair of jeans. Did I mention how much I love denim because I am CRAZY for denim!
